Beware of Silent Killer Ovarian Cysts That Are Often Ignored

cancer is a silent killer essay

Health InformationProblems faced by women do not only revolve around vaginal discharge or urinary tract infections. More than that there are many disorders that occur in the female reproductive system ranging from endometriosis which causes women to experience pain during menstruation and cervical cancer which can be deadly.

In addition to what has been mentioned before there is another disorder that often affects women. The disorder is in the form of ovarian cysts that can appear and cause quite a lot of disorders.

Cysts that grow on the ovaries are usually difficult to detect and do not have any symptoms at the beginning of their appearance. This condition makes ovarian cysts very dangerous and is considered a silent killer.

Recognizing ovarian cysts

An ovarian cyst is a condition where fluid-filled bubbles appear in one of the ovaries. This fluid is formed due to the mechanism of releasing eggs and the conditions of the hormones progesterone and estrogen produced by the two ovaries on the left and right of the uterus.

A woman usually produces at least one cyst on the ovaries throughout her life. These cysts are generally not large and will go away on their own. Some cysts can also get bigger and cause quite a lot of problems in a woman's sexual and reproductive abilities.

Types of ovarian cyst

Cysts that appear on the ovaries are quite diverse. However, which are common in women and cause disturbances are the following two types:

1. Follicle cyst

Before being released from the ovary, the ovum will be stored in a follicle that is spherical in shape. When the ovary is removed, the follicle will burst and no longer bulge.

Under certain conditions, the follicle cannot release an ovum during ovulation. These bubbles will fill with fluid and eventually turn into ovarian cysts which cause infertility in women.

2. Corpus luteum cyst

The condition of the follicle that has released the ovum will usually decay on its own and return to its original shape. However, if these bubbles do not burst, the fluid around the ovaries will enter and cause ovarian cysts.

In addition to the two types of cysts above, there are conditions on the ovaries that cause women to have many small bubbles of cysts. This condition causes the ovaries to swell and causes infertility.

Ovarian cyst symptoms

Cysts that occur in the ovaries generally do not have any symptoms. However, in certain or severe conditions, some of the things below can happen easily.

·       Stomach feels bloated and hurts even though I'm not eating anything. This condition can occur because there is swelling of the ovaries.

·       Pain in the lower abdomen or pelvis will occur when the menstrual cycle arrives. This pain is usually more severe than PMS which is usually experienced by women.

·       When making love with a partner, women will often experience pain so that the pleasure will decrease.

·       The back will often hurt, especially after lifting heavy objects or sitting often.

·       Breasts are sagging.

·       Frequent vomiting and nausea.

After the above symptoms appear and occur frequently, an examination must be carried out immediately. Examination can be done by CT Scan, MRI, and ultrasound device.

Ovarian cyst complications

There are several complications that will occur if a woman has a severe ovarian cyst. Complications are in the form of very great pain to the occurrence of internal bleeding.

Furthermore, although this condition is rare, some examinations of cyst cells in the ovaries also found cancer. So, it is possible for the cyst to grow with carcinogenic cells.

Hopefully the above review can be used as a reference to maintain reproductive health and avoid cysts that are quite dangerous.

It is much more difficult to make people healthy than to make them sick.
